A few weeks ago I had a long phone conversation with my roommate from college who lives far away. I miss you Kristi!!!!! “Maybe I’m your miracle.” :O) Still can’t watch that movie without thinking of you.
Back to the topic at hand, I get distracted easily.
Anyway, during our chat she mentioned a music video she saw the other day. The main lady in the video was working in an office setting and was wearing tennis shoes with her pencil skirt and blouse. To which Kristi said, “she reminded me of you.” My friends know me so well.
This past weekend I attended a wedding shower for a friend and ended up wearing a dress to the shower. Needless to say, I wore my tennis shoes with the dress so I could drive easily. I’m definitely not used to wearing high heels while I drive so for the safety of everyone on the road, and the passengers in my car, I opted to wear the tennis shoes to drive.
My friend Lovie just laughed at me when I showed up at her house wearing my grey and pink tennis shoes with my blue, green, black, and white dress. Once again, not my most fashion forward moment, but I was comfortable and didn’t care what others thought. Even went into the gas station and Wal-Mart sporting my tennis shoes with my dress. So if you happen to see me on the “people of Wal-Mart” website because of my outfit that day, know that it was way more comfortable than trying to walk around in heels in the store.
Yes I still enjoy wearing my high heels (which I did wear during the actual wedding shower), but not while driving or walking around the grocery store.
Have a great week everyone and enjoy sporting your own unique sense of style.
Way to go! Confident enough in who God made you to be that shoe attire is more about comfort when needed…and the pretty moments when called for. BTW, you’re going to be fabulous all day of the upcoming wedding of your friend…tennis shoes to get stuff done, and lovely heels for the main event. You’re awesome!
Thanks Momma for raising me to be confident when I need to be. God loves me no matter what I look like and that’s all that matters.
I am all about being comfortable. You are very special, Megan !!!
Comfortable attire = happiness
Thanks for accepting me for who I am Michelle!!
I miss you, too! I love our conversations.
I will be looking for you on the “people of wal-mart” website, LOL!! I think it’s awesome you’re confident in who you are.
I think it’s awesome that you’re my friend!!! It’s taken me many years to build up confidence in who I am. But now I know that God created me for a reason and I’m happy to live out my life (quirkiness and all), even if it that means wearing tennis shoes with my dresses.
I agree! I love how as we grow we become quite (“quite”!) comfortable being ourselves. And I’ll bet you got lot more done since your feet weren’t exhausted from a whole long day in heels!
So true Sister. There was definitely a lot more accomplished because heels were not involved for the entire day. It’s nice to know that my family and friends except me for who I am in Christ. It’s more exhausting tryin to keep up with the standards of this world than to just be comfortable with who I am. Plus if we were all the same then this world wouldn’t be quite as interesting.
